Laser caries treatment why is it worth it?

Treatment of caries with a laser is dedicated to all patients who expect a procedure with a high level of comfort. Compared to traditional treatment, the patient experiences less pain (also postoperative), and thanks to its effect, the tooth heals faster and the bacterial flora is reduced, which reduces the risk of recurrence of the disease.
How to prevent caries?

Untreated caries can cause a number of diseases and ailments - from periodontitis, through sinusitis or tonsillitis, to kidney or heart diseases. Caries can also cause an unpleasant smell from the mouth, which is difficult to eliminate with commonly available methods. Preventive measures include brushing your teeth at least twice a day, flossing, using an irrigator and, of course, regular preventive visits.

Advantages
  • less pain (also after the procedure) and acceleration of the entire procedure,
  • faster tooth healing compared to other methods,
  • minimally invasive cavity preparation,
  • tooth pulp photobiomodulation,
  • the laser causes a lower probability of secondary caries (thanks to disinfection of the cavity, reduction of bacterial flora),
  • laser precision allows you to treat teeth when other methods fail, reduces the likelihood of root canal treatment even in deep cavities, and often allows you to protect the tooth from extraction

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. We are committed to the best quality in every treatment procedure - and we make no exceptions here. We treat most cavities only with a laser, in some cases we have to open the cavity with a standard drill, but the worst for the tooth is still removed with a laser. Treatment with this technology at PiastClinic is definitely a standard, not an addition.

Yes. Laser treatment means that we do not have to perform the so-called. safety margins (necessary in the standard method) because the laser disinfects all microchannels in the cavity.

Here it is difficult to answer this question unequivocally - it is influenced by many different factors. However, if we look at the tooth tissue itself, without the influence of any external factors, then definitely yes. The appropriate frequency and energy creates microchannels in the dentine, thanks to which the surface of the cavity is not flat, but rough, has greater retention - and thus, greater adhesion to the tooth.
